  3. <The only way I could transfer the shareware WAD file was to install the shareware Doom
  4. <onto a PC and then use the PC ARJ.EXE program to compress the file over 2 disks.

  6. <It compressed to around 1.7Mb and was two files on the two disks.

  8. <Then using the EXCELLENT programs in the Atari UNARJ.996 package to uncompress the files to my
  9. <hard disk.

  11. <As far as I know ARJ is the only format that can have a file split accross multiple disks.
  12. <ST ZIP does not support this feature !!!!

  14. Yepp I noticed yesterday to my griefe that st zip was to dump to 
  15. unpack a splitted zip file. So now I am sitting at my office and 
  16. transfer the file via null modem and the not to fast program 
  17. ghostlink. This is only recomended if you do not know any other 
  18. options. Anyway thanks for the tip on arj, I will defently use it 
  19. next time...
